Cool article, very informative read. Feel there’s not enough coverage on Central Asia!

Interesting article. The graphic showing the difference in the size of energy markets compared to metals markets is eye-opening.

Central Asia is a new part of the puzzle for me. The maps and links were very helpful.

Thank a lot!

Excellent article on the Stans, especially comparing Gross Income per person! That's the key that so many macro-econ professors glide over.

Then there is also issue of connectivity, although China's BRI and erstwhile Soviet infrastructure are covering this deficit but South Asian markets are still locked out. For example TAPI(Turkmensitan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) gas pipeline is in limbo due to security concerns in Afghanistan and India-Pak animosity..

Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan... those are just made up names. Either you've watched too much Disney movies or you're a nefarious geopolitician manipulating us into caring about people who don't exist. You gave yourself away when you expected us to believe that dead Kazakhs got a good Soviet education. Must be some capitalist scheme for the USA?

On the other hand, THANK YOU.

Strong statement about the Stans. I am curious about your perspective to make your comment!

Also thanks for sharing the enclave video, seems like they are peace loving people!

Playing with words. I was being sarcastic/satirical, emphasising that most of the world doesn't care. never thought you'd think I was actually speaking of you (instead of agreeing and praising). You, academics, too serious. But, considering that you thought I was being mean, and that you responded with "I am curious about your perspective to make your comment!", you were so restrained, moderating and polite that its funny :) My laughter would turn into hell, if I thought someone was unfairly maligning me. Guess that's why the future will see you as a diplomat, and I will be eating old rice in prison... :)
