Flirt with socialism, or at least state-led development, suffer conomic stagnation, then pivot to export focused growth only to be thrown all over the place by the chaotic dynamic of the world market. Tunisia started in the 70s.
I think we are now entering a world of more protectionism. The way how Europe blocked out Tunisia from its markets for industrial goods is going to happen even more.
