Hi everyone,
I made an additional newsletter called Beehiiv. Feel free to follow me on this link as well if you’d like. That newsletter will be exclusively on Africa and will be called “Afrinometry” (my inspiration was from the Youtube channel, Asianometry, a fantastic Youtube channel on technology and Asian history).
On Beehiiv, I will mainly be uploading old articles with updated 2023/2024 information and adding more details to previously uploaded article.
For example, the first article that will be added today is an updated article on Ivory Coast. I added more stuff about the first president’s failed attempt to make a cocoa cartel. I also added the fact that Ivorian firms have been making much more progress than Ghana went it comes to going beyond the value chain of just selling raw cocoa (i.e. making cocoa powder, cocoa butter, cocoa paste, and chocolate).
I will still be uploading on this Substack, but this Substack has other stuff besides Africa. Sometimes I just talk about economics, resources, geopolitics, semiconductors, Asia, or anything I feel like really. One day I’ll probably add more articles on more personal stuff like transitioning from aerospace engineering to business, getting an MBA at a top school, and etc. But that is later on.
In short, you won’t be missing anything if you don’t subscribe to Beehiiv. Everything that’s on Beehive (or will be on Beehive) will also be on Substack. But if you are a more recent subscriber, and you don’t like going through my archives on older African articles, then Beehiiv is your chance to get my old African Econ-Geopolitical articles one by one on your email with updated info.

I’ve heard good things about Beehiiv!
Have you checked out the Sections feature on Substack? I haven’t looked too much into it yet, but know you can have subscribers opt into separate sections vs your whole newsletter. I was thinking about using that feature once I stop traveling and the stuff I write about expands.
